- Brief Bio
Andrew "Fletch" Fletcher grew up amidst the British bedroom coding boom of the mid-80's, and fondly recalls a time during which his older brother would bring home stacks of blank tapes full of copied games for their much-loved Amstrad CPC 464. In the early 90's he continued to mooch off of his brother to experience the vibrant wonders of 16-bit gaming, but somewhere along the line was forced to start buying his own games. Since then he's experienced the varying merits of a full English education, culminating in 3 years of studying Cultural and Media Studies at The University of the West of England (Bristol). And although originally intending to work in journalism full-time, Andrew now puts his gaming nous to more practical use as a Designer with British developer Blitz Games.
He knows it's only a matter of time before videogames get taken seriously in the media, but is angry and surprised that it still hasn't happened yet. As such, Andrew admires GameCritics.com for its refreshing lack of condescension, both towards its readership and its subject matter.
